Katarina Norman is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who provides psychiatric medication management and brief psychotherapy to individuals navigating a wide range of mental health conditions. Her approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
Katarina specializes in treating substance use disorders, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders, and LGBTQIA+ affirming mental health care. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have been historically underserved or marginalized in traditional mental health settings.
Her clinical background is rooted in diverse and dynamic environments, including hospital-based crisis care, home health, outpatient pharmacological eating disorder treatment and individuals experiencing homelessness. These experiences have shaped her holistic, harm-reduction-focused approach and her commitment to meeting each client with empathy and clinical integrity.
In addition to her clinical work, Katarina serves as the President of Sunshine Community Services of Tulsa, where she leads initiatives to expand access to equitable, trauma-informed mental health care. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to community advocacy and systemic change—particularly for individuals impacted by housing insecurity, substance use, and structural inequality. Through both her clinical practice and organizational leadership, Katarina works to reduce barriers to care and promote mental health justice for all.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Herzing University. Her practice philosophy centers on empowerment, accessibility, and the belief that recovery is not only possible—but deeply personal.
Katarina currently offers virtual appointments part-time throughout the week, allowing for flexible access to care. Please note that the practice is closed on all federal holidays. She is in the process of onboarding with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, CommunityCare, HealthChoice, and UnitedHealthcare, and is accepting self-pay clients during this credentialing period.
