Meryl is a full-time Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor at Flourish Wellness, where she is committed to helping individuals navigate complex mental health challenges and work toward lasting recovery. She also provides clinical supervision for LPC candidates, supporting the next generation of therapists as they grow in competence and confidence.
Meryl specializes in working with individuals facing borderline personality disorder (BPD), eating disorders, mood disorders, OCD, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, grounded in a deep understanding that recovery is not linear and each person's path is unique.
She draws from evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS)—modalities in which she feels most confident and grounded. While she has prior training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and CBT for suicidal ideation, she is currently focusing on deepening her expertise in a few core approaches before returning to those modalities with fresh training in the future.
In her work with BPD, Meryl emphasizes skills such as emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. For clients with OCD, she integrates CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help reduce compulsive behaviors and build tolerance for uncertainty. She also incorporates therapeutic interventions to support individuals dealing with disordered eating, distorted body image, and mood instability.
Meryl fosters a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Her goal is to provide structured, compassionate care that builds resilience, challenges unhelpful patterns, and supports clients in creating meaningful change.
Meryl accepts Aetna, BCBS, UHC/UMR, Cigna, CommunityCare and HealthChoice. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available during standard business hours as well as after hours and weekends. Meryl is currently full at this time, but if you feel her approach aligns with your needs, please don't hesitate to reach out today to be added to her waitlist.
