Kate Hardberger, LPC, specializes in helping children and adolescents navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. She is passionate about providing a warm and supportive space where young minds can build confidence, develop emotional resilience, and learn healthy coping skills. She particularly enjoys working with elementary, middle school and high school children, empowering them to manage stress, strengthen their sense of self-worth, and embrace their unique strengths.
With experience supporting children as young as two years old, Kate understands the importance of early intervention and developmentally appropriate care. She believes in meeting each child where they are, using a collaborative and engaging approach that fosters a sense of safety and trust. She also recognizes the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ youth may face and is committed to providing affirming and inclusive care to support their well-being. Her goal is to help children and teens develop the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with confidence while also supporting parents and caregivers in reinforcing these skills at home.
Kate integrates a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, play therapy, solution-focused therapy, and family systems approaches. She tailors each session to the child’s individual needs, incorporating creative and practical strategies that make therapy engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate. Whether through expressive techniques like art and play or structured skill-building exercises, she strives to create a space where children and teens feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Kate is in-network with BCBS, Aetna, UHC, CommunityCare, Cigna, and HealthChoice. She offers both in-person and virtual appointments during regular business hours, but is currently operating from a waitlist. If you’re seeking a compassionate therapist to support your child’s emotional well-being, Kate would be honored to be part of their journey toward growth and self-discovery.
